Where do permanently deleted photos go?

Are permanently deleted photos gone forever? It will remain in your trash for 60 days if you remove a photograph or film that’s backed up in Google Photos. It will stay in your garbage can for 30 days if you erase an item from your Android 11 and up device without it being backed up.
