What’s a soft case?

Soft cases are made out of either TPU (soft plastic), leather, or silicone. For the eco-conscious, TPU plastic and silicone are completely recyclable, and real leather is an incredibly durable material. Related: The Best Eco-Friendly Phone Cases. Soft cases are usually pretty slim.

Are gel cases good? Gel phone cases are usually slim and lightweight, come in a range of colors, and have a matte or gloss finish. These cases can withstand bumps and scratches very well and, because of their elasticity, are very durable and will not crack or break. Gel cases will protect the phone on the back and sides of the device.

Polycarbonate is virtually unbreakable and easier to manufacture would be my guess. Silicone is rubber, so unless you can be more specific as to what type of rubber, I can’t compare that.

What is soft TPU? TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) is a flexible plastic, less rigid than PC, but not to the soft flexibility of silicone.
