(From Sigma lens literature) Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM lens allows enjoyment of super wide-angle photography and it is a very powerful tool for indoor shooting and landscape photography with APS-C size image sensors of digital SLR cameras.

Hereof, Is Sigma 10-20mm a wide-angle lens? This Ultra wide-angle zoom lens has a maximum aperture of F3. 5 throughout the entire zoom range, making it suitable for low-light and indoor photography. It’s wide-angle of view from 102.4*degrees produces striking images with exaggerated perspective, enabling photographers to emphasize the subject.

What’s considered wide-angle lens? A wide-angle lens has a focal length of 35mm or shorter, which gives you a wide field of view. The wider your field of view, the more of the scene you’ll be able to see in the frame. These lenses are ideal for many scenarios, and most photographers have at least one trusty wide-angle lens in their kit.

Accordingly, Is Sigma EX full frame? SIGMA DC lenses for DSLRs feature the same Canon EF and Nikon F mounts as the full-frame lenses, and thus, can technically be mounted to full-frame DSLRs, but you will notice significant vignetting on full-frame cameras, since the smaller image circle will not cover the entire sensor.

What does Sigma EX mean?

EX – Professional Prime Lens. These are the high-end lenses that Sigma first put out yet have now replaced. They are similar to the Canon ‘L’ series. FLD – Fluorite, Low Dispersion. Low dispersion glass elements reduce chromatic aberrations and are currently the best available.

Will a Sigma lens fit a canon? Since Sigma lenses are made to be fully compatible with Canon cameras, they are backwards-compatible. This means that you can use a Sigma lens on a Canon DSLR camera. Similarly, the Sigma cameras are backwards-compatible with Canon lenses.

Can I use a Sigma lens on a Nikon camera? SIGMA DG lenses for DSLRs (no DN in the name) — which cover full-frame sensors — can be used on crop-sensor cameras without issue, however the effective focal length will be multiplied by 1.6x on Canon cameras, and 1.5x on Nikon cameras.

What does DN mean on Sigma lens? DC DN in sigma lenses is meaning for “DC – lenses” designed for APS-C DLSR cameras. “DN – lenses” designed for compact system cameras. Is Sigma sharper than Canon?

Canon lenses are almost always superior in the same grade, focal length, aperture, for optical quality, performance, sharpness, etc. Sigma makes fine lenses too and can come quite close to performance with the equivalent Canon lens but will rarely, if at all, trump over the Canon.

Are Sigma lenses full-frame? The Sigma 24-105mm F4 DG OS HSM Art lens is a premium lens designed for full frame cameras and will also work with APS-C sensors with an effective increase in focal length. The 24-105mm F4 is a highly versatile focal range and staple everyday lens.

Are Sigma lenses sharper than Canon?

No contest: the Sigma is sharper. Way sharper. Just like in studio, there isn’t really anything wrong with the results from the Canon, the Sigma is just better. Both lenses were wide open and the Sigma outperformed the Canon in sharpness even open further to f/1.4 over the Canon’s f/2.

What is the difference between DC and DG Sigma lenses? DC lenses are designed for cameras with an APS-C size sensor and won’t cover the entire image area of a 24x36mm (Full Frame) sensor.
