The other day, I was watching Kill Billof Quentin Tarantino. Excellent film (if you’re not afraid of blood :P). And if I tell you about it, it’s because I realized that I was starting to have what I’ll gladly call “the eye of the photographer”.

Indeed, while watching this excellent feature film, I realized that many scenes would make excellent photos. Good light, good composition, and above all this small extra soul that makes a good picture, and therefore a good movie. Because yes, in my opinion cinema is the immediate counterpart of photography. I’m not making it up, of course, but I became very aware of it when I watched this film. I looked at it with a new eye, which I like to call “the eye of the photographer”.

Let’s take some examples of these “photogenic” scenes from Kill Bill or other films, by viewing this gallery :

And yes, it could be a photo gallery, and not just screenshots of movies.

If I insist on this, it’s so you can start to look at the world through the eyes of a photographer. Starting with movies, but not only movies. But that’s for an upcoming article 😉.

And you, have you ever been aware of the photographic aspect of something? Comment to tell us about your experience!

And don’t forget to share the article! 🙂
