Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM, Nikon version (FX, Full-Frame, DX and 35mm coverage, 67mm filters, 23.3 oz./661g, 1’/0.3m close focus, about $900.

Similarly, What does DG HSM mean? DG means it is designed with full-frame cameras in mind, so can be used on such bodies as Nikon D800 or Canon 5D Mark III (obviously you need an appropriate mount version for either system). The lens has Sigma’s ring-type ultrasonic autofocus motor (HSM) and optical image stabilization (OS).

What is a 35mm 1.4 good for? For most SLR owners, the Sigma is the best 35mm f/1.4 lens available. It captures crisp images at every f-stop, has a wide maximum aperture for shooting in low-light and capturing photos with a shallow depth of field, and comes in at a much lower price than alternatives from Canon, Nikon, Pentax, and Sony.

Beside above, Does Sigma 35mm 1.4 have image stabilization? Main Features. Sigma’s 35mm fixed lens is equipped with a fast f/1.4 maximum, and f/16 minimum aperture. It has quiet, quick Hypersonic Motor (HSM) focusing with manual override and a 0.3m (one foot) minimum focal distance – no image stabilization is included.

What is a 35mm 1.4 lens good for?

Thanks to its large aperture of f/1.4, the lens is not only great for low-light photography, but it also can effectively isolate subjects from the background due to shallow depth of field, beautifully rendering background highlights, also known as “bokeh“.

Is Sigma DG for full frame? Designed to deliver the ultimate in performance on full-frame digital SLRs, Sigma DG lenses also bring out the best in 35mm SLR film cameras and APS-C size DSLRs.

What is the difference between Sigma DG and DC? The first acronym you’ll find on a Sigma lens is its frame size. The frame size on a lens tells you what kind of camera the lens was intended for. In SIGMA, DG denotes a lens designed for a Full Frame camera and DC tells you that the lens is for a Crop Sensor camera.

What does DG DN mean Sigma? The DG designation indicates that the lens has been optimised for use with digital SLR cameras. The DG lenses feature improved (more even) light distribution from image centre to edge, especially at maximum aperture, compared to conventional fast wide-angle lenses.

Can you take portraits with 35mm?

Yes, you can use a 35mm lens for portraits. The best way to shoot a portrait with a 35mm lens is to stay about 3ft-4ft away from your subject (don’t get too close) and keep their face towards the center of the frame. The wider angle of the lens will distort the subject’s features if they’re too close to the edges.

Is the Sigma 35mm 1.4 weather sealed? Sigma states that the optical design controls sagittal coma well, even at its largest apertures, for those interested in using this lens for astrophotography. The lens also features weather sealing for dust and moisture resistance. Availability of the Sigma 35mm F1.

Is Sigma 24mm weather sealed?

The 24mm F1. 4 also comes fully weather sealed.

What is the Sigma 35mm good for? This Sigma lens is ideal for photographers looking to get an optically excellent lens at a great value. It’s great for any photographer who needs a fast 35mm lens for a full-frame camera, such as for weddings, events, and portraits.

Are Sigma art lenses stabilized?

Now, most standard zoom lenses have become as wide as 24mm and are even equipped with built-in image stabilization just like this new one.

Can you use art lens for video?

The Sigma 35mm f/1.4 Art DG HSM (B&H, Amazon) is primarily a photography lens, though it will be used for video.

Can you use a 35mm lens for portraits? The 35mm lens focal length is more versatile when shooting indoors for its wide field of view and capturing more scenery when traveling than the 50mm lens which is more zoomed-in making it difficult to use indoors but ideal for traditional, headshots and portraits.

Are Sigma lenses worth it? In the end, Sigma did as good job as they could when it comes to build quality for a budget lens like this. One feature it’s lacking that may bother some people is the image stabilization. It wouldn’t be such an issue on a lens with a maximum focal length of 200mm or one with a faster aperture than the f5.

How do you calibrate a Sigma 35mm lens?

Will a Sigma lens fit a canon? Since Sigma lenses are made to be fully compatible with Canon cameras, they are backwards-compatible. This means that you can use a Sigma lens on a Canon DSLR camera. Similarly, the Sigma cameras are backwards-compatible with Canon lenses.

Will a Sigma lens fit a Nikon?

What SIGMA lenses fit my full-frame Canon and Nikon DSLR cameras? SIGMA lenses with DG in the lens name — that do not have DN in the lens name as well — are designed for Canon and Nikon full-frame DSLRs.

What does EX DC HSM mean? The Sigma 30mm f/1.4 EX DC HSM is a wide-aperture photographic lens made by the Sigma Corporation, equipped with Hyper Sonic Motor (abbreviated HSM, Sigma’s trade name for photo lens focusing technology using ultrasonic motor).
