With almost half the number of pixels on the same size CMOS Sensor as the R5, the R6 has way better low light shooting capabilities. Hence this camera is a better pick for photographers who usually shoot in challenging and low light situations.

Then, Why is R6 only 20 MP? Most photographers with current equipment are getting more used to the 30MP and 40MP standard that DSLRs and mirrorless cameras consistently set. Unfortunately, the R6 tops out at 20MP which is a lot lower. That means fewer opportunities for cropping in and retaining good detail in stills.

Is 20MP enough for wildlife photography? If you mostly get the subject filling as much of the frame as you need, then 20MP is plenty. 30MP gives you a little more room to crop and still reveal detail, but only up to a point and it’s not as much as it sounds.
