Is CFexpress the same as QXD?

CFexpress has the same form factor as XDQ, and the nature of the format is backwards compatible, so theoretically they should both be able to be used interchangeably, though likely with a firmware tweak.

Similarly, Is CFexpress same as XQD? Physically, they are the same. XQD devices can use CFExpress cards with just a change to firmware. XQD doesn’t allow the higher speeds of CFExpress, but that could be tweaked – however it’s not looking good for XQD.

Does CFexpress work with XQD reader? Now, you might be thinking this looks familiar, and you’d be right. CFexpress Type B and XQD use the same exact form factor and connectors. Because of this, many cameras, such as Nikon Z Series and Panasonic S Series, which originally had XQD card support, have been able to enable CFexpress via firmware updates.

Can Nikon Z6 use CFexpress?

Do I need a CFexpress reader? You absolutely do not need a CFexpress card reader to use CFexpress cards. One caveat: when connecting the a7Siii to my Windows 10 PC, I seem to only be able to read and transfer files from Card Slot 1.
