Hereof, Is the Canon R6 a professional camera? Canon considers the R6 a pro camera; adds big video updates to it and the 1D X Mark III. Canon has introduced some big video oriented updates to its “professional cameras”, the EOS R6 and 1D X Mark III.

How much is Canon EOS R6? The R6 is available with a recommended price of $2499, body-only. It can also be bought in a kit with the 24-105mm F4L for around $3599 or with the 24-105mm F4-7.1 STM IS for approximately $2899.

Most photographers with current equipment are getting more used to the 30MP and 40MP standard that DSLRs and mirrorless cameras consistently set. Unfortunately, the R6 tops out at 20MP which is a lot lower. That means fewer opportunities for cropping in and retaining good detail in stills.

The Ikelite Canon EOS R6 underwater housing is a high quality, polycarbonate model with great underwater buoyancy and ergonomics. This housing can be used with the Ikelite Canon TTL converter and Ikelite strobes for extremely fast and accurate exposures underwater.

Is the R6 rain proof? From what I have read, the R6 is similar to the other “6” series bodies. Not to be used in proper rain, but a light shower is probably OK (assuming a weatherproofed lens is also used).

Is Canon R6 weather sealed? On all the research I’ve done it seems to be concluded that the R6 has weather sealing equivalent to the old 6D Mark II body, but not quite up to the standard of the 5D/R5.

Is Canon EOS R weather sealed? Bottom line, the Canon EOS R has very good weather-sealing, and we’d have no qualms about using it for short intervals in heavy rain, and for longer periods of time in light rain or drizzle.

So, the Canon EOS R6: it packs a 20MP sensor, IBIS (which varies the number of stops gained by up to 8 stops based on the lens used), dual UHS-II card slots, a good, but not excellent EVF, 4K video, and weather sealing for $2,499.

While the Canon EOS R5 is a superb and extremely capable camera, it can be overkill for most photographers including myself. While there are some personal drawbacks I find with the EOS R6, it is the perfect in between Canon mirrorless for portrait photographers.

Is EOS R6 better than EOS R5? The Canon EOS R5 has a few more advantages. It has a larger 3.2″ LCD screen with more resolution than the EOS R6, and it has a higher-resolution OLED EVF with 5.76 million dots. In addition, it utilizes better WiFi and Bluetooth chips, with both 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz channels (dual band), as well as Bluetooth 5.0.
