CIPA rates the battery life of the EOS R6 at roughly 360 shots when using the EVF and 510 shots when using the LCD, but it all depends on how you use the camera in the field.

Most photographers with current equipment are getting more used to the 30MP and 40MP standard that DSLRs and mirrorless cameras consistently set. Unfortunately, the R6 tops out at 20MP which is a lot lower. That means fewer opportunities for cropping in and retaining good detail in stills.

Now, the camera’s capable of shooting in C-Log 3 and utilizing RAW Light recording. RAW Light allows the camera to shoot in RAW and reduces the file size of 8K and 4K videos. This results in a lower bitrate. Canon says support for Canon C-Log 3 in RAW video is coming to the EOS R5 soon in a future update.
Is Canon R6 good for videography? The overheating is a shame, because otherwise, the R6 is a versatile camera for video. The small size and flip-out screen are great for vlogging or run-and-gun shooting. Canon’s Dual Pixel autofocus worked great for my video, locking onto my subjects with minimal focus hunting for action shooting or B-roll situations.
