The Nikon Z50 isn’t a beginner camera, nor is it a top-end flagship. Indeed, it falls perfectly into that category of cameras that Nikon seems to do better than anyone else- the mid-range of cameras that pack in as many features and value as possible.
Then, Is Z50 full-frame? The Nikon Z50 features a new full-frame sensor without back illumination, and offers a lower price version of Nikon’s Z series full frame mirrorless camera experience.
Is Nikon Z50 good for videography? The Nikon Z50 also delivers great images and video, and despite a couple of niggles such as the lack of a joystick and the inability to use the screen to set the AF point while you look in the viewfinder, it’s become one of my favourite cameras of recent times.
Keeping this in view, Can I use full-frame lens on Z50? The Z50 works with all Nikon Z-Mount Lenses, both full-frame and DX.

Does Nikon Z50 shoot raw? The Nikon Z50 enables users to capture RAW and JPEG format files.
Is Nikon Z50 good for cinematography?
Its low light performance is fine, though a bit below most mirrorless cameras. The lens selection for DX-format is limited, but there is a good selection of affordable Nikkor primes. Overall, despite some limitations, the Z50 is a great entry-level camera and would be a great B-Camera to the Nikon Z6.
Who is Nikon Z50 aimed at? The Nikon Z50 is a 20.9MP mirrorless camera: the first time the company has put an (unstabilized) APS-C sensor behind its new, larger ‘Z’ lens mount. The company says the camera is designed to attract a generation of users who don’t consider themselves to be photographers.

Can I use my old Nikon lenses on the Z50? Yes, with the FTZ adapter you can use just about any Nikon lens ever made. For full function (auto focus) you need to use AF-S or the newer series with built in focus motor. Older lenses like the D series will not auto focus.

Nikon Z50 and D7500 sensors made by Tower Semiconductor (former TowerJazz)?
Is Nikon Z50 weatherproof?
Its front and top plates are made from metal and it’s weatherproof to the same standard as the D7500. I tested that weatherproofing during a downpour at a rugby match and the camera and 50-250mm survived. As with the Z6 and Z7, existing Nikon DSLR users will find they are on familiar ground with the Z50.

Can I use Nikon DX lenses on Z 50? The Z50 works with all Nikon Z-Mount Lenses, both full-frame and DX. It uses the same oversized mount as Nikon’s full-frame cameras, and thus looks foolishly large around an APS-C sensor. This also means the back ends of all DX Z lenses are larger in diameter than they really have to be.
Does FTZ work well?
The FTZ Adapter ($249.95) is what you’ll need to make the two systems work together. It works with most of Nikon’s modern lenses, and some third-party glass, and for the most part, it works well. I have one gripe about its design, but it’s only an issue if you like to leave a tripod plate on your camera.
Does the Nikon Z50 have an AA filter? By the way, it’s pretty obvious from these images that the Z50 has no anti-aliasing filter. I think that was a mistake on Nikon’s part.
